Due to Betsy's maternal duties and family commitments over the next few weeks, Bridie will be taking a few weeks off from the Show ring! We look forward to some 'fun' weeks ahead, rearing Betsy's babies and we'll see everyone in July at East of England CH Show. Many thanks to all our friends for all their much valued help and advice over the past few weeks, its been very welcome and much appreciated.
With all the excitement of Betsy having her puppies on Sunday, we had forgotten what a super show Three Counties CH was for Bridie on the Saturday. Under Breed Specialist Paul Russel, Bridie was entered in a strong Post-Graduate class. I was thrilled with Bridie as she absolutely showed her socks off and was even more thrilled when she took 2nd place in a class of 12. An absolutely great result for us, many thanks to the judge.
We are delighted that Betsy has whelped a lovely litter of 9 puppies. They were born the early hours of June 14th. Betsy is a super mum and all are doing great. Please see our Puppies page for further details.
The weather this morning, as we got up very nearly put us off travelling down to Newbury for the Southern Counties CH Show. Absolutely pouring with rain in Derby, we decided to take a chance that the weather would be better down South and off we set for the 2 hour drive. Thankfully, the weather that greeted us was glorious sunshine. Vicky wearing her wellies made a few people giggle who couldn't understand the need for them!! Our judge was OLE J STAUNSKJAER from Denmark. Entered in Graduate Bitch we were again delighted to come away with 1st place. Many thanks to the Judge for another great result. Congratulations go to our freinds Sue Lott and Jolee (So Attractive to Newlaithe) who won the Reserve Bitch CC - WELL DONE!!
Birmingham National Ch Show Critique - Fearn Pynegar
Graduate Bitch: 1st Mewetts Signature by Newlaithe, Another good bitch, so many times gets overlooked. Well balanced head, dark well shaped expressive eyes, good mouth and dentition. This bitch is stylish and compact, nicely put together with plenty of substance and bone. Clean sloping shoulders, deep brisket and harmonious angles front and rear. She won this class on her movement and overall soundness
WELKS Ch Show Critique - Pam Broughton
Yearling Bitch: 2nd Mewetts Signature by Newlaithe, Another lovely girl with very good shoulders and quarters, straight front and good feet, lovely head with dark eyes, good muzzle and mouth, moved well.
A sunny but cool day greeted us at the Birmingham National CH Show and our judge Fearn Pynegar (Berwynfa). Entered in Graduate bitch we were thrilled to win 1st place in a strong class. Many thanks to Fearn for giving us such a super result and making the National one to remember.

Glorious sunshine greeted us at Malvern for the WELKS CH show. Under Breed specialist Pam Broughton (Glenfall) I was entered in Yearling. In the afternoon sunshine I was delighted to win 2nd place in a lovely class. Many thanks to the judge for a lovely result.

St Helens was the venue for today's CH show, and the Merseyside Boxer Club I was entered in the Yearling Bitch class under Marion Cowan (Alcomar). In a lovely class of 10, I was delighted to come away with 5th place. Many thanks to the judge for a lovely result.
Our breed club show today was held at My PetStop, Tingley. We set off bright and early, as today we had the 'team', both Betsy and Bridie entered under Pierre Roosenboom from Holland. First in was Bridie in a strong Graduate Bitch class of 12. The judge worked us hard and we were over the moon to be awarded 2nd place. Next in was Betsy entered in Post-Graduate bitch, again a strong class with 15 entries. As Bridie did before her, Betsy didn't let the side down and absolutey showed her socks off! It paid off - we were delighted when Betsy was awarded 4th place. An absolutely great day for us, many thanks to the judge.
Off to Manchester for the Mancunian Ch show. Today I was entered in my first Graduate bitch class under Miss Christine Ellingworth. In a lovely class of 10, I was delighted to be awarded 4th place
Working day at Crufts 2010, and today myself and Bridie were both flying the flag for our small team at this world famous show!
It was a rare day out for me as recently I have been having a break from the ring, and I was excited to be attending alongside the other 271 boxers who were there to represent the breed.
Because of the popularity and size of the show it was an early 6 am start for us to arrive at the NEC for 8 am. Judging started at 9 am and our judge for today was the famous all-rounder Mrs Kari Willberg.
First up it was Bridie who was entered in a Special Yearling class of 16. Unfortunately, she didn't seem her happy self today and she didn't place.
Immediately in the class after Bridie's, Graduate Bitch, it was my turn to do my stuff. The change of dog certainly kept Vicky on her toes!! So in we went along with 23 others (Graduate turned out to be the numerically strongest class of the day with all 24 being present). I thoroughly enjoyed myself and it showed!! After what seemed like forever, the judge decided to 'cut' the class down. My heart skipped when the judge pointed to me and I'd made the final 10! We were moved and then re-evaluated and I'd made the last 5!! We finished the class in 5th place, absolutely over the moon as this is our first time we've ever been placed at CRUFTS!! A fantastic day.
Stoneleigh Park and the Kennel Club Building was the venue for the Midland Boxer Club CH show. The judge for today was Steve Gething (Jeddhi). Entered in Yearling I was delighted with 4th place in a strong class.
Off to Newark today for the first breed CH show of the year. The judge for today was Carol Moncur-Drysdale (Carmondene). I was entered in Special Yearling which had an entry of 10. I am delighted to say I placed a very respectable 3rd place in a strong class which qualifies me for Crufts 2011!! We are thrilled to have qualified at one of the earlier shows. Many thanks to the judge for a great result.
And so a new 'show season' starts and as ever I'm raring to go!! Today It was a local trip up to Stafford show ground for my first CH show appointment of the year. I was entered in Special Yearling under all-rounder Meg Purnell-Carpenter. After settling, I performed really well and was delighted to leave the ring with a lovely 4th place. A super start to the year, many thanks to the judge.
